Wrestling around Colorado - Nov 5th

The first weekend of November brought a full slate of wrestling with youth, open high school and open college events.  Saturday Nov 5th saw the start of the Metro Junior Wrestling League schedule with the MJWL Open Kick Off held at Gilpin with 250 entries in the 5 division (6 under thru 14 under).  Results and brackets can be found on trackwrestling.com

The Western Suburban Wrestling League started their tournament season with the Saints Rumble held Sunday Nov 6th at Jefferson High School. The tournament had 11 divisions (4 under thru 15 under, women, novice 8 under thru 12 under) with a total of 270 entries .  Results and brackets can be found on trackwrestling.com

The Peak2Peak league had a single tournament this weekend with the Shootout at Chaparral held on Nov 5th at Sierra Middle School in Parker. The 6 division (4 under thru 15 under) tournament had 170 total wrestlers.  .  Results and brackets can be found on trackwrestling.com

The Monster Match was also held on Nov 5th with youth, high school, women and open divisions of wrestling at the National Western Stock Complex. The divisions were 6 under thru 15 under, high school, open , women elementary, women middle school, women high school,  and rookie divisions 7 - 9, 10 -12, 13 - 15.  The sixteen mats that covered the complex floor was busy with completion all day into the evening hours. Tournament host, RMN Events, has worked hard to bring elite youth wrestling competition to Colorado at a convenient location. With 16 mats of competition,  trophies for 1st - 3rd place winners, and custom medals for 4th - 6th place, Monster Match Nationals was a perfect way to start off the wrestling season! .  Results and brackets can be found on trackwrestling.com

The first weekend of college wrestling tournaments for the teams in Colorado was held at Wyoming University in Larimer, Wyoming on Nov 5th. Colorado teams attending were Adams State, Air Force Academy, Colorado Mesa , Northeastern Junior College, Northern Colorado, Otero Junior College, Western State and Air Force Academy Prep. There were 18 teams involved in the two divisions - Amateur (274 wrestlers) and Elite(172 wrestlers) with 10 weight classes in each division. The Colorado Springs area middle school is in full swing and Discovery Canyon Middle School hosted the 12 team tournament on Nov 5th.  There were 190 wrestling in the 20 weight class field with anywhere from 5 to 16 wrestlers per weight classes. Eagleview held off the second place team Sproul by 2 points 195 to 193 and had a five point lead  over Lewis Palmer in 3rd place. Results and brackets can be found on trackwrestling.com
